O
ur day in Aburi was the perfect mix of adventure, nature, and good food. We rode ATVs through the hills, took a break at a hidden waterfall, and wrapped up the day with pizza at Hillburi—a perfect getaway from Accra!
When we arrived at ATV Aburi, we were welcomed by the friendly owners—two women from the U.S. They gave us a smal tour and introduction to the area, sharing some interesting facts about the surroundings. Before hopping on the ATVs, we even got to meet their goats, which added a fun and unexpected touch to the experience.
Next, we had a short familiarization session with the ATVs—learning how to handle them and getting comfortable with the controls. Once we were ready, it was time to hit the trails!
And then? Pure freedom! The routes took us through fields, forests, and dusty paths—sometimes smooth, sometimes thrillingly rough. The scenery was stunning. But one thing we underestimated? The sun! Even though we used sunscreen, some of us still ended up with sunburns. Next time, we’d definitely wear longer, lightweight clothes for better protection.
We choosed to take the waterfall tour and it did not dissapoint. The soothing sound of the water—it was simply peaceful.
After the adrenaline rush, we were starving. Hillburi was the perfect choice—a beautiful hilltop location with panoramic views. We ordered a Margherita and a Meat Lovers pizza, paired with ice-cold drinks and went swimming in their pool overlooking the greenery from above. What a magical moement.
