f there’s one experience in Ghana that left a lasting mark on my soul, it’s this one. Visiting Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle on the same day was intense — emotional, powerful, and necessary. These aren’t just historical sites — they’re sacred ground. A reminder of how far we’ve come… and what must never be forgotten.

Cape Coast & Elmina Castles 

We started our day at Cape Coast Castle, where we walked through the dungeons, stood in the courtyard, and passed through the infamous Door of No Return. The energy is heavy — and rightfully so. You can almost hear the echoes of the past. It’s a place that demands silence and reflection.

Later that day, we visited Elmina Castle, just a short drive away. It’s even older, and honestly, the energy felt darker. It hit different. The stories, the cells, the chains — they don’t let you walk away unchanged.

Oasis Beach Club 

After a heavy day like that, we needed a moment to breathe. So we stopped at Oasis Beach Club, and wow — what a vibe. Right on the beach, with an incredible view of Cape Coast Castle, palm trees swaying, and Afrobeat in the background. The food was on point too — super fresh and flavorful. It felt like the perfect place to process, reconnect, and release.
